On January 27, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) published a notice that Federal grants and financial assistance would be temporarily paused beginning January 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM. We are investigating how this notice may impact our rental assistance programs and services. Please rest assured that we, along with our industry partners and colleagues, are working together to try to avoid any disruption in services to our residents, voucher participants, property owners and other stakeholders. We will share more information as it becomes available to us.
Update: We are happy to report that OMB rescinded its January 27th order, ending the temporary freeze on federal spending. While we were relieved that the Administration intended to exclude rental assistance from the spending freeze, funding that we rely on to provide self-sufficiency services to working families, build new affordable housing, and reduce our energy costs were all targeted. On behalf of the nearly 930 senior, family and disabled families we serve, we are grateful to all of the individuals, organizations and elected officials across the country for their advocacy on our behalf.
