KH conducts interim certifications when a household reports a decrease in income or increase in some certain expenses. Examples of income changes include decreases in child support or earned income, or a change in benefits or medical expenses. Safety Net provides a temporary increase in subsidy for households participating in the Stepped Subsidy program experiencing unexpected income changes including, but not limited to an unexpected loss of earned income, an injury that affects a family member’s ability to perform work, or a decrease in household composition resulting in a sudden loss of household income.
