Work Order Update

Post on May 28, 2020

We know that the best way for us to help slow the spread of COVID-19 is to minimize contact between residents and KH staff, but we also recognize that the need for routine (non-emergency) repairs in residents’ apartments is growing. Beginning on Monday, June 1, 2020, we are beginning a phased-in approach to accepting requests for routine work orders, accepting work orders by property according to following schedule:

  • June 1 – Forestview, North and Gilsum and Meadow Road
  • June 8 – Riverbend, Evergreen and Stone Arch Village Family
  • June 15 – Ash Brook, Brookbend East, Brookbend West and Scattered Sites (including Emerald House, Fairweather Lodge, 32 Water Street and 139 Roxbury Street)
  • June 22 – Stone Arch Village Senior and Central Square Terrace
  • June 29 – Harper Acres and Bennett Block

Accepting work orders in phases will give the Facilities and Assets staff adequate time to catch-up. Please remember, work orders can be submitted from the property page on www.keenehousing.org or by calling 352-6161.

The health and safety of our residents, staff and community remains our top priority. We are implementing a number of safety protocols to help keep our Facilities and Assets staff and residents safe when we come into residents’ apartments to complete work orders.

  • Facilities and Assets staff answer the following health screening questions at the start of every work day:
    • Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
    • Have you had a fever or felt feverish in the last 72 hours?
    • Are you experiencing any respiratory symptoms including a runny nose, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath?
    • Are you experiencing any new muscle aches or chills?
    • Have you or anyone in your household experienced any new change in your sense of taste or smell?
Anyone who answers yes to any of these questions, is sent home.
  •  Staff taking work orders ask callers the following health screening questions:
    • Have you or anyone in your household been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
    • Have you or anyone in your household had a fever or felt feverish in the last 72 hours?
    • Are you or anyone in your household experiencing any respiratory symptoms including a runny nose, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath?
    • Are you or anyone in your household experiencing any new muscle aches or chills?
    • Have you or anyone in your household experienced any new change in your sense of taste or smell?
If the resident answers yes to any of the questions, the resident is asked to call back in 14 days to report the routine work order.
  • Facilities and Assets staff ask the resident the same questions again before entering an apartment.
If the resident answers yes to any of the questions, the resident is asked to call back in 14 days to report the routine work order.
  •  Facilities and Assets staff wear Personal Protective Equipment (latex gloves and facemasks) when working in apartments.
  • Household members are asked to quarantine in a separate room while the Facilities and Assets staff member(s) is working in an apartment.
  • Facilities and Assets staff wash their hands with soap and water after completing a work order.  If soap and water is not readily available, staff use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and find the best ways to help keep everyone healthy and safe.  If you have any questions, please call 352-6161 or email Sandy Clark at sclark@keenehousing.org.  Please visit our website and social medial for future updates.  Stay safe and healthy!
